Rustic Eggers are a developing specialty breeding line created at Roslin Poultry Ranch and selected for their rich, earthy range of olive, brown and deeper green egg shades. These birds combine colourful egg genetics with good laying ability and the hardy qualities valued in a backyard flock.
Our Rustic Eggers are selected for egg colour, health, temperament, productivity and overall quality as the line continues to develop.
About Rustic Eggers
Rustic Eggers are a developing specialty breeding line created at Roslin Poultry Ranch with a focus on producing rich, earthy egg colours. The line is being selected for deeper olive, dark olive, khaki, moss green and brown shades, creating a more natural and rustic-looking colour palette.
As a developing specialty hybrid line selected for egg colour and laying ability, Rustic Eggers have the potential to produce approximately 200–250 eggs per hen per year under good laying conditions. Actual production will vary depending on genetics, age, daylight, nutrition and management.
As a developing line, egg colour and feathering can vary from bird to bird. Each generation is selected for desirable egg colour, health, temperament, productivity and overall quality as the line continues to develop.
