At Roslin Poultry Ranch, we focus on excellent nutrition, natural flock management and responsible breeding practices to produce strong, healthy chicks with desirable breed characteristics and beautiful egg colours.

Hatching eggs are offered by reservation, and availability varies throughout the laying season. Orders are available in quantities of 6 or 12 eggs, with 18 eggs available for select varieties.

📋 How Hatching Egg Reservations Work
Because hatching egg availability depends on our breeding flocks and daily egg production, we do not use standard online checkout for hatching egg orders.
1. Submit a Hatching Egg Request
Complete our Hatching Egg Request Form and select the breeds and quantities you are interested in.
2. Join the Queue
Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Your request is added to our queue and filled as fresh eggs become available.
3. We'll Contact You
When your eggs are ready, you will receive an email with:

4. Confirm Your Order
Payment is required to confirm your order.
Your order is not considered confirmed until payment has been received.

🐣 Important Information About Hatching Eggs
Hatching eggs are a natural product, and fertility and hatch rates cannot be guaranteed.
Hatch results can be affected by many factors, including egg handling, shipping, storage, incubation conditions and the individual hen.
We ship only fresh, carefully selected eggs from our breeding flocks, but once eggs leave the Ranch, we cannot control the conditions they experience during transportation or incubation.
Dark-Shelled Eggs
Dark eggs, particularly Marans and some Olive Egger eggs, can be difficult to candle. This is normal and does not necessarily indicate that an egg is infertile or developing poorly.

Hatching eggs are collected and shipped throughout the spring and summer breeding season.
Availability can vary by breed depending on:

Number of requests received
Because of this, some breeds may have limited availability or a longer wait time.
Orders are filled in the order requests are received.
If a requested breed is unavailable, a suitable substitution may sometimes be offered with your approval.

How Our Spring Hatching Process Works
We begin fertility testing as early as January, or as each breed returns to lay (some breeds take a little longer after winter). Once fertility is confirmed, we begin fulfilling orders in the order they were received. Orders will be ready for pickup at that time. Shipping is weather dependent and typically begins in mid to late March.

Whiting True Blue – Barred Genetics Hatching Eggs & Pricing Note
Some Whiting True Blue chicks hatched from our hatching eggs may carry the barring gene, which can be identified at hatch by a white head spot. Chicks may be male or female, as sex cannot be determined at hatch.
Expression of barring is not guaranteed in every hatch, though it commonly occurs in this line as it is dependent on genetics.
