8-Week-Old Cockerels
Young Male Chickens Available at Approximately 8 Weeks Old
At Roslin Poultry Ranch, we occasionally have young male chickens (cockerels) available from our breeding program at approximately 8 weeks of age.
These are young birds—not mature roosters. At 8 weeks, cockerels are still growing and developing and will continue to change significantly as they mature.
Cockerel Availability
Our cockerels are primarily offered as a way to find good homes for the young males that naturally occur in our hatches.
Most cockerels are available FREE of charge.
The exception is our Barred Whiting True Blue (WTB) cockerels, which are offered for $15 each due to their specific breeding genetics and value within our breeding program.
Availability varies throughout the season and is dependent on our hatching schedule and breeding program.
Barred Whiting True Blue Cockerels
Our Barred WTB cockerels are offered at $15 each.
These males are particularly valuable because of their role in our breeding program and the genetics they carry. They may be of interest to breeders working with blue egg genetics and sex-linked breeding projects.
Because these birds are part of a specific breeding program, availability is limited.
