We do not sell Ready to Lay Hens as space is limited.
At Roslin Poultry Ranch, we raise a limited number of started pullets (6-8 weeks old) each season for customers who prefer young, healthy, well-started birds rather than day-old chicks or hatching eggs. Because we maintain a small grow-out space to ensure proper care and attention, our availability is seasonal and limited.

​​​​We will not be offering pre-orders or reservations this coming 2026 season. Instead, we will raise small batches throughout the spring and summer and make them available as they reach 6-8 weeks of age.​​​​​
Why Choose Started Pullets
At 6-8 weeks old, our pullets are :

* Large enough to safely integrate into an existing flock
* Past the fragile brooding stage - no supplemental heat or indoor setup needed
How Availability Works
Because not all breeds would be available in every batch - and male-to-female ratios vary - each batch will include a unique combination of breeds. We recommend reviewing our typical breed list ahead of time so you can plan a few preferred options.

When pullets are ready, they are posted on our Started Pullets Availability Page, which includes:

* Available breeds
* Ages (typically 6-8 weeks)
* Price per breed
* Pickup window
* Any notes about that specific batch
​
Note: Our started pullet listings will remain marked Out Of Stock most of the time. That's because the majority of pullets are spoken for before they are posted. However, when we have extra pullets that are not pre-claimed, we will make them available on the Started Pullets Availability Page. If you'd like a chance at these limited extras, simply select "Notify When Available" on the product listing to receive an instant email when additional birds are posted.

Breeds Available for the 2026 Season
* Welsummer - Known for their deep terracotta, speckled eggs and gentle personalities.

* Blue & Splash Marans - Famous for chocolate brown eggs and calm temperament.
​
* Whiting True Blue - Prolific layers of vibrant sky-blue eggs.
​
* Standard Lavender Cochin - Sweet, docile birds with fluffy feathering and striking lavender colouring.

* F1 & F2 Olive Eggers - Great layers, F1 OE-a 100 % chance of laying olives. F2 OE- a 75% chance of laying shades of olive, 25% blue and 25% brown.

* Coastal Eggers - Hardy, colourful layers, bred for reliability and mixed pastel blues and greens.
​
* Rustic Eggers - Friendly, adaptable birds producing a variety of darker browns and darker olive tones.

Barred Whiting True Blue - Use for creating Sex-linked Olive Eggers and Backcrosses (WTB are not initially sex-linked).
