🐔 Welsummer
Egg Colour: Deep terracotta, often speckled
Temperament: Generally gentle and active
Good to know: Beautiful brown eggs and excellent foragers.

Egg Colour: Famous for their dark brown eggs
Temperament: Calm temperment
Good to know: Beautiful dark eggs and excellent foragers.
🐔 Whiting True Blue
Egg Colour: Sky blue eggs
Temperament: Active, friendly and alert
Good to know: Excellent layers with an active, curious nature
🐔 Standard Lavender Cochins
Egg Colour: Beige coloured eggs
Temperament: Sweet, docile with fluffy feathering and striking lavender colouring
Good to know: Not the most prolific layers. This breed is considered ornamental, not known for high egg production

🐔 The Spice Girls — Females Only
The Spice Girls are Roslin Poultry Ranch's own specialty group of female-only chicks, produced from our breeding groups and sexable at hatch.
The Spice Girls are sold as a group selection rather than individual breeds. Your order will include a variety of breeds and crosses, selected from the female chicks available at hatch.
Individual breed selection is not available. Because we do not hatch enough of each sex-linked breed to offer individual selection, we cannot guarantee specific breeds or crosses. We will, however, try to provide a variety of chicks with different egg-laying genetics in each order.

Intended primarily for breeders, this specialty line can be used as a powerful tool for creating future sex-linked chicks in breeding programs.

Some of our Whiting True Blue chicks carry the barring gene, visible at hatch as a white head spot. Chicks may be male or female, as sex cannot be determined at hatch.
This line is ideal for breeders developing barred lines or future sex-linked programs, as well as for backyard flocks seeking specialty genetics.

* Chicks are straight-run (not sexed at hatch) $18 each
* Some chicks carry the barring gene, visible as a white head spot
* Expression of barring may vary as chicks mature
* Reservations require a $20 deposit and subject to hatch availability
