🧩 Mosaic Egger™ Hatching Eggs
New for 2027 • A Developing Specialty Breeding Line
Mosaic Eggers are one of our newest specialty breeding projects here at Roslin Poultry Ranch. This developing line brings together carefully selected genetics from multiple breeding lines to create unique combinations of feather colour, egg colour and breeding traits.
The name Mosaic reflects the way this line is being developed — by bringing together different genetic pieces over generations. Each generation is evaluated and selectively bred as we continue to refine the qualities that make this line unique.
🥚 What Egg Colours Can You Expect?
Mosaic Eggers have the potential to produce a beautiful range of green, olive and brown-toned eggs. Because this is a developing line, egg colour can vary from hen to hen, and individual birds may produce different shades.
We are continuing to select and breed toward interesting and desirable egg colours as the line develops.
🐔 What to Expect From Mosaic Eggers
Egg Colour: Developing range of green, olive and brown shades, with some hens having the potential to lay naturally speckled eggs. Egg colour and speckling can vary from hen to hen
Feather Colour: Colours and patterns can vary from bird to bird
Temperament: Generally active, hardy and friendly
Breeding Line: A developing specialty line created here at Roslin Poultry Ranch
🌱 A Developing Line
Mosaic Eggers are still in the early stages of development. Our goal is not to create a standardized bird that looks or lays exactly the same from one generation to the next. Instead, we are carefully selecting birds over multiple generations to develop a distinctive line with interesting combinations of feather colour, egg colour and breeding traits.
This means that variation is part of what makes Mosaic Eggers unique. Each hatch can bring new combinations and help us determine which birds should be selected for future generations.
