Introducing our Welsummer chicks — the perfect addition to your backyard flock!

These charming birds are a Dutch breed originating from the small village of Welsum in the eastern Netherlands. Welsummers are known for their beautiful dark terracotta eggs, often with speckling. We are currently working toward hatching from eggs with the most speckling possible.

Welsummer hens lay medium-sized eggs, producing approximately 160–200 eggs per year. They are friendly and docile, making them a great choice for families with children or first-time chicken keepers.

When many people picture the stereotypical rooster, a Welsummer is what comes to mind — it’s even the same rooster that appeared on Cornflakes cereal boxes!

Offered as Straight Run Only.

Any remaining chicks after reservations are filled will be added to our inventory. Customers can use the “Notify When Available” button to be alerted when extra chicks are available.
This is a first-come, first-served opportunity — using “Notify When Available” does not guarantee a chick, but you’ll be notified if extras are added.
