Introducing our Blue & Splash Copper Marans chicks, a heritage breed admired for their beautiful blue and splash plumage and friendly, approachable nature

The Copper Marans originated in France, specifically developed in the town of Marans. These birds are prized for their rich, dark brown eggs, making them a favorite among egg enthusiasts. On average, a Copper Marans hen will lay around 3 eggs per week, totaling approximately 150–200 eggs per year. While this may not match the production of some other breeds, the quality and color of their eggs make them truly exceptional.

It’s important to note that Marans egg color can lighten with the laying season. Pullets will lay the darkest brown eggs genetically possible for them when they start, but the eggs may gradually lighten as the season progresses. After a molt or seasonal break, their eggs return to their deep, rich brown.

These chicks are hatched from dark egg genetics, as shown in the pictures, to ensure you get the deepest brown eggs possible.
