ATTENTION POULTRY BREEDERS!! 2026
Barred Whiting True Blues
**Add Power to Your Breeding Program**
Our WHITING TRUE BLUE line carries the dominant blue egg gene and a barring feather pattern that makes them ideal for producing sex-linked hybrids.
* Blue Egg Gene - strong inheritance, premium egg demand.
* Pea Comb Advantage - With a 96% genetic link to the blue egg gene, the pea comb means after the first Olive Egger pairing, when using your OE to backcross you will know which hens inherited the blue egg gene based on comb type. No more 50/50 guessing what colour eggs she will lay.
* Barring Gene - Enables easy sexing at hatch.
* Marketing Advantage - Sell guaranteed pullets, increase profitability.

**Important Clarification for Breeders**
Barred Whiting True Blue chicks are NOT sex-linked themselves.
They hatch normally and do not display autosexing patterns at hatch.
What they do carry is the barring gene, which allows you to create sex-linked offspring in the next generation. Not every chick hatched will be barred.
How It Works
When your Barred Whiting True Blue hen is paired with a gold-group rooster (e.g., black/blue/splash Marans, Welsummer (wildtype feathering), Olive Egger (gold feathering):
* Male chicks - hatch barred (head spot)
* Female chick - hatch non-barred (no head spot)
This makes them true sex-linked chicks, easy identified on hatch day.
WTB chicks=NOT sex-linked
WTB hens x gold group rooster = sex-linked offspring
This similar to the Cream Leg bar x Marans method, but with an added advantage.
When working with Olive eggers carrying the pea comb from the WTB, you can identify which pullets inherited the blue egg gene without waiting for them to lay.
