Our Whiting True Blue Specialty Line day-old chicks are offered as a separate category from our standard WTB chicks due to the genetics involved in barring.

Chicks that carry the barring gene can be visually identified at hatch by a distinct white dot on top of their head. These chicks may be either male or female, as sex cannot be determined at hatch.

• Expression of barring may vary as chicks mature
